This can include site selection and cable routing, the development of project design envelopes, carbon lifecycle assessments and atmospheric emissions management. Our proportionate EIAs are supported by our digital EIA tool eBase while we also cover specialist fate modelling, including oil spill and underwater noise, as well as stakeholder engagement. 

Quality is integral to Xodus’ environmental support. As an accredited member of IEMA, we are independently recognised for undertaking high standard EIAs in accordance with best practice. The voluntary commitments to obtain the EIA Quality Mark are independently reviewed on an annual basis by IEMA to ensure registered organisations continue to deliver added value for their clients. This commitment to high standards and quality is reflected across all of Xodus’ work. 

We have a team that includes consultants who have spent time in developers, operators and regulators, and we know how the pressures of delivering a successfully operating project differ to the development phase. We can provide support across the operational phase, including post-consent condition discharging, emissions reduction and tracking and the deployment of EmTRAX, our bespoke chemical use and discharge tracking software. We can also offer management systems support, support with maintenance activities or even the secondments of specialists. 

We advise on what the fate of assets might be, whether that is re-use elsewhere, re-purposing in the same location, or ultimately decommissioning in situ or via removal. We work across sectors, looking holistically at how assets can support sustainable use of the marine environment in a net zero context.  

We advise on regulatory and other consenting risks around bringing a project to a successful conclusion, support the comparative assessment process to determine the future of assets and develop the consent applications needed for re-use, repurposing and decommissioning as well as waste management. Our specialist fate modelling reviews issues such as drill cuttings disturbance our ornithology unit delivers including seabird management plans and surveys.
