A global operator wanted to increase production of it’s aging North Sea assets by increasing production from existing wells.   

An Xodus Process Engineer reviewed the data and couldn’t understand why only one well in the field had soured so badly. After interrogating the data our engineer discovered that the error was a factor of 10 our and if you shifted the decimal point in that H2S value it would sit comfortably in the range with all historical results.   

Our consultant shared this knowledge with the Operator, they were given the opportunity to make the case to bring the well online, which they did convincingly. The team was given the go ahead to undertake a well test which was successful and the well, that had been shut in, was brought back on line and platform production was increased by 50%.
